Today, EA announced it has struck a deal with Jostens, the Minneapolis-based jewelry giant that specializes in graduation rings but has also crafted 27 out of the 41 Super Bowl Championship rings. Under the program, titled "Ring of a Champion," Jostens will begin making custom-designed, Madden-themed rings that reflect the skill level of a specific player of the sole officially licensed NFL game.
In Madden NFL 08, due out on August 11, players will progress through five different skill levels by performing various feats of virtual athleticism. Once they reach level three, they will unlock a design feature "embedded" in "next-generation console" versions of Madden and will be given a code that will give them access to the Ring of a Champion section of Jostens' Web site. Players will be able to choose from "three unique ring designs" which can be customized with any of the 32 NFL team logos, a variety of colors, and other elements on the rings' tops and sides. Those players which unlock "epic achievements" in Madden will unlock more ring-customization options.
EA is touting the Jostens deal as a perfectly logical extension of the Madden brand into the real world. For players, though, it won't be a cheap extension. The base model of the rings, made out of nonprecious metal and decorated with cubic zirconia and "simulated stones" will go for $149. Rings can also be made from 10K white or yellow gold for $495 each, while wealthy Madden addicts can pay an as-yet-undisclosed premium to have real diamonds incorporated into their game bling.
Madden NFL 08 will be released on August 14 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii, DS, GameCube, PC, and Macintosh.

I'm not getting it. I'll probably rent it until madden comes out because frankly if I were to buy NCAA it'd be a waste of money.. As soon as madden comes out I won't care to play it. Thus madden being the better game.

Ok cool.
From the video I found out that we have 3 players on offense that has the weapons feature, Chad Pennington, Coles, Cotchery, Coles and Cotchery are probaly possession WRs, and Pennington is probaly percision passer or smart QB.

lol Leon Washington has a visor in this game, I really wonder do they actually pay attention to what players wear? Also Calvin Johnson ratings are crazy! 87 rating, 96 speed, 74 strength. DAMN!!!!!! All the other rookies arent that good in ratings.

I got NCAA anyone else here have it? I only played 1 game so far, thats when I first got it but then I had football practice so I couldnt play. I am up to play anyone tonight or tomarrow just tell me on here.

I got it today, I played a game against my brother, I was WV (cause of Steve Slaton since he went to my high school) he was Texas, I beat him 36-24.
Then I started a dynasty with the Temple Owls (I know they are crap, but I always enjoy building up a garbage team, and that's the point of dynasty mode anyway). I'm trying to recruit some nearby players (since most of the selling points are trash for Temple, figure close to home would help me out somewhat).
Anyway I played my first game on my F rated schedule (gotta start somewhere), and lost against Navy 33-31. lol.
I thought having an ESPN radio stream is pretty cool, I heard about Vick being indicted over it and Culpepper being released.

Oh I just played my brother he was Florida and I was WV, I was down big and then I broke a 20 yard run with Slaton but he got injured in the 3rd Q on that run, I was pissed but then I started tearing up my brother with Pat White just throwing the ball everywhere and running on him. Then I picked him off and ran it for a TD to pass him, then it was a close game in the 4th, Steve Slaton came back and I threw a pass to him over the middle, I had a 1 on 1 situation and juked the shit out of the safety and burned everyone for a huge TD to take the lead. It was back and forth with the scoring, untill Steve Slaton fumbled it, I was so pissed. I should of won, it was a good comeback try though.
Yea anyone that wants to play me tonight, send me a friends request, Im not going to be on the computer anymore, I will be on my xbox.

Anyone else have a problem that it keeps saying connection lost and kicking you out of the game? It happen to me 4 times. damn... I played as Miami, WV, Penn State. I won every game so far online. But it kicked me out of every game in the first quarter.

Now are we getting some time from when the game comes out till when we have our first game to get to play the game first to get use to it, or is it right away?
Did anyone have a problem passin online? Everytime I hit the button to pass it took like 30 hours for the JDB to throw the ball.

i got the ncaa demo at a friends house... and wasnt really all that impressed i hope madden turns out better.

Like I said you probably only played it a couple of times. You need to sit there and really play it to see what next gen has to offer..

Just played my first full game ranked online. I never get disconnected while ranked, only unranked games somereason. But I was Hawaii and versed Washington. I killed this guy 35-14 he conceded defeat with 4 mins left, I threw for 5 TDs with Colt Brennen, had like a 80%completion. He is now my favorite QB to use on that game, he is so easy to make the throws with, he has such great accuracy in that game. I was torching that guy, he didnt pick off 1 pass, the only reason that I had incompletions were drop passes. I had like 1 int, and like 6 sacks, this guy tried to run with his QB every play at first, I was suprised at first when he broke like a 50 yard run off of me with his QB. But I forced a fumble in the redzone and recovered it and ran it to the 20 yard line. I really like this game, its fun. Really though madden and NCAA are 2 different games, college football and NFL are different, so I usually play both all year round.
Coles has the speed weapon, Cotchery has the hands weapon and Pennington has the accurate weapon. I was looking at that video and it showed them in actual game play, so thats pretty cool we got 3 players that have weapons.

Man I just played a game and it was a close one. I was Arkanza and I was against FSU. It was a close game at first than I had 2 ints for TDs and took a lead, he scored then I got the ball back and ran a 50 yard TD. I had a big lead but then he scored and I tried to run the clock, then he scored again, then he got the onsides and drove up the field, I was getting nervous because there was little time and a TD would tie the game. Then on one play he scrambled with his QB and ran up the middle and I tackled him at the 1 yard line, he called a T.O, there was 8 seconds lefted on the 1 yard line, I brought everyone on a blitz and to hit the middle, I had about 3 guys get into the backfield where I tackled him before he got the handoff and won the game there. Man that was a intense game.
I played as Tenn vs WV (I originally was WV but that guy picked it too). Like I figured, I sucked, he won 60 something to 30.

Who cares, NCAA madden, they are both football games and basically have the same gameplay. Both are EA sports games. Plus a madden topic shouldnt be on the main board anyways if you want to talk like that, it suppose to be in the game forum, but basically theres nothing else to talk about.

For you guys that are playing NCAA did you either enter the rosters yourself, download them with a memory card transfer kit, or send your memory card away??
ncaa online is really gay wow way to many disconnects.... im currently 5-8 and i have 4 disconnects an i was winning in 3 out of 4 d.c wow its really annoying i hope madden is nothing like this

Yea it was, some reason I only get disconnected during the night, during the day I am fine it doesnt do that.
