The media sickens me.. The girl got knocked up as a teen and rather then heading straight to the clinic she came out in the public knowing this would be scrutinized. Being a teen and having a baby is stress enough and the fact that she has a JOB and can support herself I'd say she is in a far better position to have kids then most married adults I know. Kids are becoming pregneant younger and younger so for everyone to act surprised that oh my god a 16 year old is having sex is just flat out ridiculous. She is in a damned if ya do damned if ya don't situation. Have a teen baby and "ruin" her life or get an abortion and catch all the crap from that. The big point to all of this I think is if she wasn't Brittney's sister she would just be some statistic that everyone ignores and brushes under the carpet. It makes me sick to my stomach.
That 1 million dollars that magazine is going to give her will sure come in handy.
Both sides are going to make plenty of money out of this. The media will stuff this down our throats for the next 8 months because most Americans will still watch which means more ratings and more advertising time to sell at a higher price (and that's just the TV side of the media). Some will watch because they are brain dead morons who are more likely to vote for "American Idol" contestants than they are for Presidential nominees next year. Then their are those (like me) who will use the situation as a punch line to make some lame jokes.
Then Jamie and her mama are already getting money from the magazine they gave the interview to where she announced she's pregnant. Then after the baby is born their will be a bidding war for the first baby pictures. Then she'll do her Barbara Walters interview. Then she'll do some PSA's about safe sex that'll air mostly at 3 AM to show she's learned from her actions. Hopefully she'll decide to not blow all that money and she'll get out of Hollywood and go to college quitely somewhere nowhere near New York or California. Get her degree and then make a big comeback to music and acting. Because Nickelodeon is going to cancel that show of hers. Nickelodeon is like Disney, they made a star out of Jamie so getting rid of her is no big deal because they can always make a star out of some 14 year old girl by giving her a bubble-gum show and charging hundreds of dollars for concert tickets to her concert shows. Jamie is 16 so her days on Nickelodeon were numbered anyway because soon she'll too old to be some pre-teen princess.
If I were advising the girl I'd tell her to first dump the baby's daddy. Take the money from selling the first baby pictures, the TV and magazine interviews, and from what ever is left from her contract with Nickelodeon. Move away from California to somewhere in middle America. Finish high school, go to college and study television and or music production, learn the behind the scenes process of the entertainment industry maybe study journalism too. Graduate and then try to make a comeback to music and acting; and if she isn't successful in a comeback attempt she can work behind the scenes like Ron Howard, Quincy Jones, Penny Marshall, and Fred Savage do now.
