My Thoughts:
I'm all for Ed Norton and Tim Roth. But what's this movie doing that the last Hulk didn't? The basics feel the same -- military takes him hostage, runs tests, wants to turn him into a weapon. This is being touted as a semi-sequel though. I guess they want us to view it as if the 2003 one doesn't exist -- but it's only been 5 years. It took about 16 years for Batman Begins to be fresh from the Tim Burton version -- and people were still bitching that it's not Jack Nicholson playing the Joker this go around.
according to the info on imdb, the movie studio wanted to make this one more action packed, and make the hulk look gritter and darker, because the last time he was too bright and fluorescent. like i said, it's not supposed to be a total remake. it's kinda picking up where the last one left off, but just eliminating some of the origin from the last one.
the hulk is too cool of a character to abandon.. but they gotta get the CGI right this time. I felt like it was an animated movie the first go around... but I did like how the editor broke up some shots to make it look like a comic book page. I have faith in Ed Norton and Tim Roth.
i also like how they're finally intertwining the stories of comic book characters that are linked by including Tony Starks. if only movie studios weren't such assholes, they could make the punisher/daredevil/spiderman movie we all want to see.
